Starting from the assumption that the constructed
environment plays an important role in therapeutic
action...
Many architects are committed to an intense review of their own
interventions, especially (though not only) projects concerning environs dedicated to
health and sports. More generally, there is today a strong tendency to abandon the
binomial expression ‘hygiene-aseptic’, and to reject the choice and use of ceramic
materials as key elements for defining spaces that ought to be reassuring, warm and
harmonious. Contemporary places dedicated to health propose arrangements that more
consistently accompany the consumer along the course of therapeutics, or – in some
cases why not? - of pure pleasure.
